There is a large police presence in New Waltham, North East Lincolnshire, after a member of the public reported seeing a child in pyjamas and slippers wandering the streets alone late last night

A desperate search is underway after a boy in pyjamas was spotted wandering the streets alone last night.

The child, who is thought to be as young as eight, was spotted by himself in New Waltham, North East Lincolnshire around midnight last night.

Officers have been conducting extensive enquiries throughout the night, Grimsby Live reported.

The boy was wearing dark coloured pyjamas and slippers.

He was spotted standing in the road by himself on the CCTV cameras of a house.

According to Humberside Police the boy is not thought to have come to any harm.
