Vanessa Woodfield makes a special appearance on Emmerdale next week via video link, in sweet scenes with girlfriend Charity Dingle

The vet hasn’t been on screen since earlier this year, in June, with her not returning when the soap began filming again after lockdown.

Vanessa has been battling bowel cancer, and is staying with her mum away from the village amid treatment – after confirming her diagnosis earlier this year.

In real life, actress Michelle Hardwick is pregnant with her first child, with her baby due in October.

Michelle did not return to film in June and onwards like most of the cast due to her pregnancy, while she has featured off screen.
