Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom has accused President Muhammadu Buhari of plotting to invade Nigeria, The Punch reports. The governor, who said it was not possible for the killings to continue, said, “What is happening now, it is clear, the president is working for the Fulani to take over the whole country.” He went on to say that the sign he was seeing from the President of not taking appropriate action showed that he was the only Fulani leader despite his long history.”We are moving to an illegal country. If we have a president who orders the security forces to shoot anyone they see with an AK-47 then the defense minister comes out and says they can’t shoot that … “So, who is the commander of the national army?” Ortom said. According to the governor, the people of Benue are being targeted for such attacks. In a separate report, Mallam Garba Shehu slammed critics of the current Minister of Communications and Economy, Dr Isa Pantami for failing to pardon him for his past actions, Channels Television reported. He sees the minister’s failure to pardon him for his statements in support of extremist groups as worse than the minister’s crimes. The president’s chief media aide made the remarks when he appeared on Channels Television’s Politics Today program on Friday.
