The actor was known for roles in sitcom As Time Goes By and the James Bond movie Tomorrow Never Dies

Actor Geoffrey Palmer has died aged 93.

His agent confirmed that the TV and film star died peacefully at home.

Geoffrey starred in numerous popular sitcoms during his decade-spanning career but is perhaps best known for his role in As Time Goes By with Judi Dench.

The sitcom, about two former lovers who meet later in life after marry, ran on the BBC between 1992 to 2005.

The actors revived their partnership in James Blond blockbuster Tomorrow Never Dies.

Geoffrey also starred in The Army Game, The Saint and The Avengers. He also went on to appear in Doctor Who and the Kipper and the Corpse episode of Fawlty Towers.

He was made an OBE in 2004 for services to drama.
