A girl has been rushed to hospital in an air ambulance and a woman has been arrested in Chell Heath, Staffordshire, after a stabbing

Emergency services – including the air ambulance – were called to Warren Road, Chell Heath, at around 7.30am today, Stoke-on-Trent Live reports.

A woman in her 40s has been arrested in connection with the incident and is currently receiving treatment at Royal Stoke University Hospital.

While the girl, whose age has not been released, was taken to Birmingham Children’s Hospital by air ambulance.

Detective Inspector Lucy Maskew, of Staffordshire Police, said: “We are investigating the circumstances to establish what has happened, but want to reassure the community this is believed to be an isolated incident.

The incident took place in Warren Road, Chell Heath, Staffordshire 

“We understand there will be concerns but we are kindly urging people not to speculate while the investigation continues.”
