The 137 Kuriga schoolchildren rescued from the bandits camp over the weekend, met with the state governor, Uba Sani, at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim Government House in Kaduna State today March 25.

The students were accompanied by the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of One Mechanised Division of the Nigerian Army Major Gen Mayirenso Saraso and other Army officers.

They were received by the Chief of Staff to the Kaduna State Governor Sani Kila and the Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs Samuel Aruwan.

While presenting the children to Governor Sani, the GOC said six out of the 137 rescued students are hospitalized at a military hospital.

The students were rescued after two weeks in the captors’ den.
