Governor Nyesom Wike has rescued former Acting Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Joy Nunieh from “house arrest”.

LIB reported earlier that Joy Nunieh who is scheduled to testify before a house committee as part of the ongoing probe against NDDC on Thursday July 16, was stopped from leaving her home by policemen who stormed her apartment in the early hours of today.

Nunieh had also been enmeshed in a public face-off with Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio who she accused of embezzlement and sexually harassing her.

TVC reported that the Rivers state Governor forcefully gained entrance into Joy Nunieh’s residence, ordered the police officers out and later drove off with her.
