The Cross River State Police Command has confirmed the abduction of some passengers, including a pastor, around Nde 3 Corners, Akparabong Junction in Ikom Local Government Area of the state.

It was gathered that the passengers were travelling for the New Year celebration when the incident occurred on Sunday, December 31, 2023. 

According to reports, the gunmen shot at their vehicles, injuring three while an unspecified number was taken away to an unknown destination.

Spokesperson of the command, SP Irene Ugbo who gave the confirmation of the incident, said efforts were on to secure the release of the abducted passengers.

It was gathered that the District Superintendent and Treasurer of Obubra District of Assemblies of God Church, Cross River State chapter were kidnapped on the same spot on Saturday.
