It was a gathering of notable personalities in Mbanese zone, Nnewi South LGA-Anambra State as Mbanese held its 4th Miss Mbanese beauty pageant for talent hunt, promotion of girl child education and to crown a new queen.The event, which took place at Triple Fish Events, Utuh Nnewi South LGA, Anambra State on January 2, 2021 was dedicated to the memory of late Queen Evan Okoli (Miss Mbanese Tourism 2019) who died of Breast Tumor. The event featured 9 Talented and Beautiful maidens from the Zone who contested for the Prestigious Crown.
A Nollywood Actress, in the person of Queen Somma Happiness Okika from Osumenyi emerged winner of the titles: Miss Mbanese, Face of Mbanese, Ada Mbanese and Most Beautiful Girl in Mbanese 2021. Also, Queen Chinwendu Okafor from Ebenator emerged the 1st Runner up ( Miss Mbanese Tourism 2021), while Queen Chinwendu Ezeutulu from Utuh emerged 2nd Runner up (Miss Mbanese Culture 2021). They were Crowned by Queen Stella Nkemneme, the outgoing Miss Mbanese 2020.Commenting on the event, According to Osumenyi Blog Correspondence: the Chief Executive Officer of Elephant Town Entertainment (organizer of Miss Mbanese): Engr Jovita Melolo-Melata Jnr Ogboloagha (JMO), stated that this year’s event was to immortalize Queen Evan Okoli (Miss Mbanese Tourism 2019) who died of Breast Tumor,she was a great Mbanese Ambassador during her days. According to him, Mbanese Beauty pageant is aimed at enhancing self empowerment, discovering Talents, promoting Mbanese Culture, and Girl Child Education, where maidens from the five autonomous Communities that make up Mbanese, namely: Akwaihedi, Ebenator, Ezinifite, Osumenyi, and Utuh in Nnewi South LGA-Anambra State -come together to learn and interact on issues concerning the zone. He thanked all Mbanese illustrious sons who have been funding the event from its inception till date, and the royal fathers who have offered blessings, fatherly and moral support. Engr Jovita Melolo-Melata Jnr Ogboloagha advise the maidens that didn’t win the crown to be focused because there is always a next time for every competition. Emmanuel Ukaegbu-All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) Candidate for Anambra State House of Assembly Nnewi South Constituency in 2003 Election, etc. The annual Miss Mbanese Beauty Pageantry which started in 2017 has grown to become one of the most reputed and prestigious beauty contests in Nnewi South Local Government Area, in Anambra State and in the entire South-eastern Nigeria at large.
