Melania Trump’s spokeswoman said she barely knew the President’s former aide Omarosa Manigault Newman, who claimed the First Lady was ‘repulsed’ by her husband and was waiting to divorce him

Melania Trump has accused one of her husband’s former aides of ‘lashing out’ after she claimed the First Lady was ‘counting the minutes’ to divorce her husband.

Omarosa Manigault Newman, an ex-political adviser to Trump, said the couple’s relationship was over and Melania was simply waiting for the President to lose power before leaving him.

The former Apprentice contestant also told TV show host Lorraine Kelly that Melania was ‘repulsed’ by her husband.

Speculation is now mounting over the future of the President and his wife’s marriage after he lost the election to Joe Biden.

In her 2018 book, Unhinged: An Insider’s Account of the Trump White House, Newman wrote: “In my opinion, Melania is counting every minute until he is out of office and she can divorce him.

“If Melania were to try to pull the ultimate humiliation and leave him while he’s in office, he would find a way to punish her.”

She added that Trump could potentially try to revoke his wife’s citizenship.
