American entrepreneur and record executive, Damon Dash is asking for a reduction in the amount of child support the court awarded his ex-wife Rachel Roy to care for their youngest daughter because he made less than $6,000 in 2022.

The 52-year-old music executive and the 49-year-old fashion designer, are parents to two daughters: model Ava Dash, 24, and Tallulah Dash, 15. The pair were married from 2005-2009.

He is also father to son Dame ‘Boogie’ Dash, 32, with ex Linda Williams; son Lucky, 19, with ex Cindy Morales; and three-year-old son Dusko with fiancée Raquel Horn.

The Roc-A-Fella Records co-founder is currently paying around $3,000 monthly in child support for Tallulah, TMZ reported Tuesday after reviewing court documents.

He said in court docs that the most he can afford to pay on a monthly basis is $428, according to the outlet.

The New York City native referred to ongoing ‘struggling business ventures’ as a reason for his lack of income, the outlet reported.

Dash said he has been unable to earn at the level he was accustomed to since the coronavirus pandemic struck nearly four years ago.

He told the court that he made $5,140 in 2022, illustrating how his earnings have plummeted in recent years.

In a response filed with the court, Roy said that Dash was not fully forthcoming about his earnings in his statement to the court, TMZ reported.

She said that he continues to profit off his considerable share of Roc-A-Fella Records and other lucrative business endeavors he was not including in his accounting to the court.

A judge is slated to rule on the case, according to the outlet.

Dash has past had legal issues stemming from child support, as he was arrested in New York City in November of 2019 in connection with $404,000 in unpaid child support to Roy and Morales.

Dash subsequently appeared on Good Day New York, where he said that his arrest was the result of ‘a set-up.’

Said Dash: ‘It’s all about business. It’s about these lawyers, they try to manipulate things and they don’t care if they ruin your life.’

Dash said that Roy was in control of the child support payment disbursements at the time, and ‘what she would do is not pay the child support, step down as manager, and never correct the situation.’

He added: ‘The way I had the child support situated it would go into the company – Rachel Roy – she was the manager of the company, and she would pay the child support.’
