The Brexit Party leader was called up on stage by the US President, who described him as “one of the most powerful men in Europe”

Nigel Farage gave a gushing speech at a Donald Trump rally in Arizona – and had a thinly-veiled pop at Boris Johnson.

President Trump introduced the Brexit Party leader onstage during his speech, saying “a lot of people say one of the most powerful men in Europe.”

And he joked that the former Ukipper was “non-controversial.”

Taking the stage, Farage said to the President: “Oh I’m non-controversial and shy…compared to you.”

He went on to lavish the US President with praise for several minutes, describing him as “the single most resilient and bravest person I have ever met in my life.”

He said: “Four years ago I was honoured to come to america to bring the Brexit message.

“The message that you can beat the establishment and that is what Donald Trump did.

“He beat the pollsters. He beat the media. He beat all the predictions. And here’s the worst bit, they’ve never forgiven him for it.”
