The Presidency has denied media reports that it has dissolved the Interim Management Committee of the Niger Delta Development Commission.

The Senate on Thursday, July 23, called on President Buhari to dissolve the board over allegations of monumental corruption in the commission. Some sections of the media today reported that the commission’s Interim Management Committee had been dissolved.

However, in a statement released today Friday, July 24, Special Adviser to President Buhari on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, described the report as ”Fake news”.

Adesina in his statement titled, ‘Fake News On NDDC Attributed To Me’, distanced himself from a statement claiming the committee has been dissolved.

”A statement purportedly signed by me has been making the rounds that the Federal Government has dissolved the Interim Management Committee of the NDDC. Merchants of fake news in action. The communication did not emanate from the media office of the President. Please ignore.”Adesina’s statement read
