Throughout their courtship and marriage, Prince Charles and Princess Diana sat for a variety of official photos.

Their smiling faces appeared in magazines, on stamps and in portraits, as fans were obsessed by every detail of what the world believed was the perfect fairytale.

But there’s something a bit odd in all their official snaps, and it still baffles fans decades on.

Pretty much all the photos released show Charles standing several inches taller than his wife.

This was the case in their official engagement photo, anniversary snaps and cute family portraits with Princes William and Harry.

But take a closer look, and you’ll spot that Diana is often leaning into Charles’s chest, tilted forward or sitting down – because the couple were actually the same height.

They both measured in at exactly 1.78m, which is just under 5ft 9.
