The night-time industry is concerned further severe restrictions will decimate the already struggling industry and want proof “draconian” measures actually prevent transmission

The three-tiered system is set to see pubs and restaurants close in the north of England – with more than a dozen nighttime economy organisations arguing it will decimate the industry.

It comes as tough new restrictions were introduced in Scotland from 6pm on Friday.

Across most of the country venues are only allowed to operate indoors between 6am and 6pm and not serve alcohol.

While pubs and licensed restaurants in certain areas have been forced to close until October 25.
