The Washington Wizards have reportedly agreed to send superstar Russell Westbrook to the Los Angeles Lakers for three players.

According to The Athletic and ESPN, the Wizards are receiving Kyle Kuzma, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, and Montrezl Harrell from Los Angeles Lakers for Russell Westbrook to join them.

The report said the Lakers had the 22nd overall pick in Thursday’s draft and selected Jackson, a 6ft 1111 forward from Kentucky but later traded him to the Indiana Pacers in exchange for the 31st pick and point guard Aaron Holiday, who is the brother of NBA champion with the Milwaukee Bucks, Jrue.

The deal is expected to be officially announced on 6 August, when the salary cap becomes official and teams can also begin making moves for the upcoming season. The Lakers will also receive second-round picks from the Wizards in 2024 and 2028.

This is the second time in three years that the Lakers have made a significant offseason trade. They acquired Anthony Davis from New Orleans in 2019 for Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart, and three first-round draft picks.

Westbrook is the league’s career leader in triple-doubles with 184 and gives the Lakers another playmaker to pair LeBron James and Davis.
