The DIY mum desperately in need of a new floor saved almost £700 with her carpet hack, dividing her living room into two with the B&M rugs – and she was pleased with the results

The savvy mum said she loves the new look which has even created a new play area for her children

A crafty mum in desperate need of a new carpet saved hundreds of pounds with a cheaper alternative using £20 B&M rugs.

The savvy budgeteer said she hated her old flooring but could not afford to splash out £800 on a new carpet.

Instead, she picked up six cosy grey rugs from B&M and slotted them together across her living room floor.

The DIY mum said she loves the new look which has also made space for her children to play, creating the illusion of a room split in two.

Sharing her success on Facebook, she said: “Hated my floor I had down as couldn’t afford to pay out over £800 on carpet.

Others on the Facebook group are now considering using the DIY hack in their own homes

“So I have been and split my room with rugs from B&M – £20 got six which cost £120. Love how it looks.”

The woman shared her clever idea on the DIY On A Budget Facebook group where others praised the design, The Sun reports.
