Multiple Grand Slam winner, Serena Williams, has opened up about the first time she met husband Alexis Ohanian, and how they got talking at a restaurant.

The tennis legend in a recent Instagram post, spoke about the early days of their relationship. In the post, Serena Williams revealed details about the first time they met, either five or six years ago.

The American tennis star had spent most of her years winning Grand Slam titles without having a man to accompany her success.

But according to her post on Instagram, she briefly narrated how the journey began five or six years ago in Roma, Italy.

The Olympic gold medalist was chilling out in a restaurant in Italy when the chief executive officer of Reddit made advances at her and the rest is now history.

‘This trip started in Roma 5 or 6 years ago lol I’m the worst with time lines,’ Williams began, before breaking down more details of their first meeting.

‘He sat at my table. I asked him to leave. He refused. I found that hot,’ she admitted of their first encounter.

‘I asked him if he liked truffles. He said yes. Eventually I said yes. And here we are. 5 or 6 years later,’ she added, while tagging @alexisohanian.

Williams and Ohanian announced their engagement in December 2016, with their daughter Alexis born in September 2017 before they tied the knot in November 2017.

Williams also shared a brief video of her daughter Alexis Ohanian Jr. on her Instagram story, during a series of makeup tutorial videos.

‘I’m cute!” the two-year-old proudly proclaimed, as Serena proceeded to put some makeup on her.
