After testing hundreds of TVs over the past six years, consumer champion Which? has come to the conclusion there are simply no options that are any good at 32″ or below any more

For the past six years, anyone buying a TV that’s 32″ or smaller has been wasting their money.

That’s according to Which?, with the consumer champion not finding a single set that’s up to scratch since 2014.

Smaller TVs consistently failed to deliver the sound, picture and capabilities of bigger and more expensive rivals, with the drop in quality so large Which? no longer recommends buying one.

Which? said some people would be better off streaming TV onto devices such as laptops and tablets than buying a small TV.

Natalie Hitchins, Which? head of home products, said: “When it comes to TVs, size definitely matters – bigger models score consistently better in Which? testing but while smaller TVs are in much less demand than they used to be, there still appears to be a gap in the market for small sets that really pack a punch.

“Our advice to shoppers is to choose a larger TV that they can comfortably view, where possible. For small or occasional spaces, streaming content on a laptop or tablet may just offer a better experience than a small TV.”
