Super Eagles and Fenerbahce defender, Bright Osayi-Samuel has been found not guilty for his involvement in an altercation with Trabzonspor fans who invaded the pitch following Fenerbahce’s 3-2 away win in the Turkish Super Lig last month.

The Turkish Football Federation conducted a disciplinary hearing following the incident, with Bright Osayi-Samuel among the three Fenerbahce players summoned.

However, the verdict from the hearing has been announced with  Osayi-Samuel absolved of any wrongdoing.

The disciplinary measures were primarily directed towards Trabzonspor, who received a six-game ban and a fine of 112,000 TL for on-field events and failure to adhere to guidelines. Trabzonspor trainer Egemen Korkmaz and Fenerbahce player Irfan Can Egribat were handed one-game bans and fines for their involvement in the altercation.

While Bright Osayi-Samuel was cleared of any offense, his teammate Jayden Oosterwelde received a one-game ban and a fine of 5,000 TL for his role in the altercation and actions towards the stands.

Additionally, Fenerbahce administrators Kursat Ciftkik and Okan Ozkan were sanctioned with 15 days of deprivation of rights for their involvement in the altercation.

Osayi-Samuel, 26, was filmed in a viral video punching one of the supporters, who ran onto the pitch, while Dutch defender Jayden Oosterwolde was accused of kicking the same fan when supporters of Trabzonspor ran onto the pitch attacking players of Fenerbahce.
