Surprising Study: How Long Does Sex Last On Average
====================================

I’ve received this question from a loyal subcriber: “Dr. Sam – this is going to be a bit of a private question, but I’m wondering how long should sex last? Or, what’s the average? I feel I should last longer, like in porn… Maybe that’ll be more satisfying for my girlfriend. But for myself, I don’t need much time and it’s hard to last a long time, you know what I mean?”

So, there has been a study about this and it includes 500 couples from around the world timing themselves having sex over a four-week period – using a stopwatch.

Of course, this can make things awkward and it’s not super scientific, but it’s close enough.

So what did the researchers find? Well, not good news because the average time for each couple (that is, averaged across all the times they had sex) ranged from as little as 33 seconds to as long as 44 minutes. That’s an 80-fold difference.
