The White House has refused to confirm when Donald Trump last tested negative for the virus which he tested positive for a week ago, with the President keen to hold a rally on Saturday

Donald Trump’s doctor has said the President has completed his course of therapy for Coronavirus and can return to public engagements from Saturday.

The White House has refused to confirm when the Republican leader last tested negative for the virus, with contamination of others still a possibility.

Dr Sean Conley said in a memo Trump had responded “extremely well” to treatment without any evidence of adverse effects.

The President was hospitalised last Friday after he announced he had contracted Covid-19 on Twitter before returning to the White House on Monday.

“Since returning home, his physical exam has remained stable and devoid of any indications to suggest progression of illness,” Dr Conley wrote.
