Joe Biden’s campaign team say they are closing in on victory in the US election as states still count votes, but Donald Trump continues to insist on legal challenges over results in a handful of states

A Joe Biden victory in the US election is “imminent” his campaign team have claimed.

His party say he has won battleground state Arizona and that they are “on track” to win Nevada and Pennsylvania, which would edge him even closer to the White House.

It comes as a lawsuit from Donald Trump’s campaign against Georgia has been dismissed by a judge.

Judge James Bass unceremoniously denied the request in a sentence before the hearing abruptly adjourns.

But Trump President threatened more legal challenges on Thursday over results from Tuesday’s presidential election in a handful of states, claiming without any evidence that voter fraud has been committed in places where Democrat Joe Biden appears to have won.

“All of the recent Biden claimed States will be legally challenged by us for Voter Fraud and State Election Fraud,” Trump wrote in a tweet, without listing specific states or examples of alleged fraud.

States still counting:

  • Alaska
  • Arizona
  • Georgia
  • North Carolina
  • Nevada
  • Pennsylvania
