The President of the United States has made repeated baseless efforts to undermine the electoral process as it looks increasingly likely he’ll be a one-term president

Donald Trump used the White House briefing room to launch a fresh unsubstantiated and baseless attack on American democracy as his chances of reelection fall away.

The President of the United States has made repeated efforts to undermine the democratic process, without foundation.

Several of his tweets – along with those of his family – have been flagged by Twitter as misleading.

In a rambling 17 minute speech he claimed that he would have “easily” won if only “legal” votes were counted.

Security around Democratic rival Joe Biden has been stepped up, with the former Vice President now hotly tipped to be announced as the winner today.

Biden asked for Americans to “stay calm” as votes continue to be counted in crucial states, such as Arizona, Georgia and Pennsylvania.

States still counting:

  • Alaska
  • Arizona
  • Georgia
  • North Carolina
  • Nevada
  • Pennsylvania
