Visitors to the Sandyford McDonald’s in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, became exasperated when a customer blocked the way through because staff would not accept his £50 note

The customer refused to shift for 45 minutes

A furious customer blocked a McDonald’s drive-thru for 45 minutes due to a row over a £50 note.

Police were called to the Sandyford fast food branch in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, after tempers flared.

A customer and members of staff had locked horns when the employees refused to accept a £50 note as payment, Stoke Sentinel reported.

As the verbal battle raged, drivers stuck in the queue behind the customer got tired of waiting.

Some drove onto the kerb to reverse themselves out when the man continued to refuse to shift his car.
