The First Lady of the USA has said that the country’s democracy must be protected the day after Democrat Joe Biden was elected as the next President of the country

Melania Trump has echoed her husband Donald’s unfounded claims that the Presidential election was stolen from him.

The First Lady broke her silence following Joe Biden’s election win to imply that the President-elect had received illegal votes.

She tweeted: “The American people deserve fair elections. Every legal – not illegal – vote should be counted.

“We must protect our democracy with complete transparency.”

On election day Melania also showed support for her husband by going out to vote in Morton and Barbara Mandel Recreation Center in Palm Beach, Florida while not wearing a face mask.
