A mum-of-two from Bolton has explained exactly how she took her weekly food bill from £100 to just £50 – while still making sure her family is fed with healthy meals

Amy Atkinson has explained how she cut her weekly food bill from £100 to just £50.

And the 32-year-old mum from Bolton managed it while still making sure her two children got served tasty, healthy meals.

“I used to spend £80 to £100 a week on food and I’ve managed to halve that to £40 or £50 a week,” Amy told money-saving community  

To pull off the incredible reduction in costs she takes advantage of a variety of clever tricks – from meal planning, bargain hunting and saving all the food she can to use in other dishes.

“I don’t like paying full price so I always hunt for bargains first,” Amy explained.
