It comes after the supermarket giant introduced new rationing limits on September 25 – with flour, dried pasta, toilet roll, baby wipes and anti-bacterial wipes now capped at three per person

The grocer has warned the shortage could take weeks to remedy (Image)

Britain’s biggest supermarket has warned some products are in limited supply just weeks after introducing new panic-buying restrictions amid a sharp rise in coronavirus cases in England.

In a message to customers, Tesco said its pork products are limited in stock, as it apologised to shoppers for the unplanned shortage.

A notice, spotted at the Tesco superstore in Cheriton, Folkestone, on Monday, said: “Due to supplier issues, we have limited availability on these products.

“We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”

Bosses have since confirmed the problem could take weeks to remedy.

The notices were displayed next to the grocer’s Finest and own-brand products, including bacon, however, it declined to comment on which ranges – and stores – are affected.
